The idea

Retail was spending billions on digital geo-advertising while the shopper walked straight past the door. Chap SDK let a retailer reach that pedestrian with a geo-triggered push — no beacons, no hardware, just software in the apps people already had. Convert the street, not the browser.

The run

Incubated at NOI Techpark in Bolzano. Selected — through the TILT program — among the fifty best Italian startups for the national delegation "Made in Italy — The Art of Technology", and flown to Las Vegas to exhibit in the Italy Pavilion at CES 2020, where Italy's Minister of Innovation received the delegation. No company from South Tyrol had ever made it to CES before.

Four people made the trip: Patrik Seebacher, Tobias Marmsoler, Dieter Paccagnel, and Lukas Schorn. The national and international press wrote it up — StartupItalia, Silicon Canals, La Voce di Bolzano, Alto Adige Innovazione, and the local papers back home.

The lesson

Chap SDK did not become a unicorn. It became something more useful: proof that a team from a valley of half a million people could stand in the world's loudest room and belong there. Everything the company builds now — quietly, from the same mountains — starts from that proof.

Bolzano to Las Vegas, and back with proof.
